Sadness abounds. My poor girl, Lowly, is in for rehab, getting a new rear derailleur at RecumbentPDX, which means I won’t be logging any more miles till next Wednesday at the soonest. Well, I did get to the gym and swam my arms off for a mile, this afternoon, I suppose it’s not bad to mix it up now and then, give the legs some rest for a few days. I might actually try to fit that in every day in lieu of the pedaling, should keep me ready to take off again.
Poor timing, just a couple days into the Strava Climbing challenge for this month, which probably didn’t help the derailleur, I had a really hard shift mid-hill and the whole thing crapped out. It may be possible to still complete the challenge, I’ll have from Wednesday/Thursday through Sunday, so, let’s see, I just need to do the Mt Scott climb approximately 7 more times, figure I can repeat it at least twice in one ride, so, if I did that, 4 times, I’m set, if I eat my spinach, I might get 3 trips up in a ride! Sounds rough, we’ll see what happens, maybe this months climbing challenge just isn’t in the books for me, I have a feeling they are going to keep making it more difficult every month. Recumbents don’t typically climb, but my legs are being whipped into shape by this stubborn will.
