iPhone riding: Quad Lock Case Review

By Kipp @1tonkippo · On March 11, 2015

The last review of the Biologic iPhone Bike Mount Case was not great.  I don’t enjoy doing bad reviews, but the product just didn’t fulfill my needs and I felt like the advertising at the onset was slightly embellished.

And now for the Bike Mount Case that I really can recommend!

I have Rose City Recumbent Cycles to thank for sharing a link to this company, giving me a first glimpse.  The iPhone 6 Plus Case from Quad Lock is far more usable for my needs than the Biologic case.  There is no messing with having to beg it into and back out of the bag, the case itself is low profile enough and offers great protection to leave on full-time, and connecting and disconnecting from the mount is effortless.  There is nothing covering up the camera lens, lending to higher quality photos, and I can talk freely on the phone (as opposed to yelling at the phone), not having to be worried about sound being distorted through the bag, and you can also get a car mount that works with the same case (yes, I got that too)

The only downside, and this could be a huge one, this case, by itself, does not offer the same weather, dirt, and dust protection that the Biologic case covers.  While the side buttons are covered, the ports on the bottom of the phone remain uncovered.  Quad Lock has what they call a “Poncho” (I called it a weather jacket in the video) that you can purchase additionally that helps remedy this.  Unfortunately, it’s not available yet (anticipated arrival date is end of March, 2015), but I will be acquiring this as soon as it comes out.

Otterbox and LifeProof have had some good cases with bike mounts, but neither of them have the bike mount portion available yet for the iPhone 6 plus.  The LifeProof case bike mount has also been reported a bit on the flimsy side as well.

Quad Lock also has cases for the other phones, not only my ginormous iPhone 6 plus, and they have a variety of different mounts to hook up to, including; biking, running, car, tripods, and generic mounts you can stick to just about anything.

If this looks like something you might be interested in (I really recommend it), this link will get you 10% off your order, and give me a little kick-back as well to help keep the lights on around here:
