rideATAXIA is at it again with another fundraising ride, and, this will be the first one I am going to be a part of!
A little information about the event:
“Outback Steakhouse is proud to partner with the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) for a day of physical achievement and family fun.
The Sixth Annual rideATAXIA NorCal, will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Center – Davis, California Saturday May 30th 2015, and will offer multiple route options on scenic country roads, in the Central Valley, plus delicious post-ride food prepared by Outback Steakhouse.
rideATAXIA NorCal benefits FARA – a non-profit organization dedicated to research leading to a cure for Friedreich’s ataxia (FA). FA is a debilitating, lifeshortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder.
rideATAXIA cycling events across the United States, have raised invaluable awareness for FA and over $3 million to support FA research since 2007.”
A little information about me:
I’m a bit more unusual, I’ve come up negative for FA multiple times, but whatever I do have, seems to be very similar. While my team of Dr.’s are still trying to figure out exactly what my situation is, I’ve decided to join this great movement to CureFA and support rideATAXIA as a perfect venue.
I’ve registered our team “imnotdeadyet” for the rideATAXIA NorCal event! My wife and I will be riding the 40 mile route (I’ll be on my ‘bent!), please join in helping us meet and surpass our goal, sign-up with our team, any of the others, start your own team, or pledge your tax-deductible donation to this worthy non-profit. Come ride with us if you’re able to make it to the Sacramento area, May 30, 2015!
